EXTREME ART
WHERE RISK BECOMES INSPIRATION
Art is not always painted in a studio.
Sometimes it is painted hangingfrom a rope, submerged in the sea, or floating in the air.
This is where Markus D’s extreme art is born, where adrenaline and creativity merge to create something that transcends the limits of the body and the canvas.
🌊 Under the Sea: The Largest Painting Ever Made Underwater

Five meters deep, with the water surrounding me and the oxygen setting the rhythm, I painted what the press recognized as the largest underwater painting in the world..
A 4 by 2 meterartwork dedicated to Salvador Dalícreated in the sea of Palamós.
Every brushstroke was a battle against time, cold, and the weight of the water.
The result: a piece that unites art, endurance, and held breath.
🪂 In the Air: Painting Suspended from a Hot Air Balloon

Painting from the sky was another challenge: the wind moving the canvas, the vertigo in every stroke, and the thrill of seeing the earth from above.
I turned the air into my studio and the immensity of the landscape into my inspiration.
Each color reflected freedom, lightness, and the pulse of the moment.
On the Mountain: Hanging by a Harness, Embracing the Void

Between the rock and the sky, with my body suspended in the air, I discovered a new way of painting: with the body in tension but the mind in peace..
The mountain becomes both witness and support; gravity becomes a constant challenge.
This project symbolizes the strength of balance between fear and creation.
Among Sharks and Marine Life
Painting surrounded by sharks and fish is not a metaphor: it is a real experience I had at the Aquariumwhere nature becomes both audience and accomplice.
The feeling of vulnerability and respect taught me that art can also be a bridge between humans and marine life.
The canvas vibrates with every movement of the water, with every held breath.
The Spirit of Extreme Art
Every extreme artwork is more than a painting:
it is a physical, emotional, and spiritual experience..
I work with the body, with risk, and with the environment.
Each project reminds me that creating is also surviving, and that when art is made at the limit, it stops being simple painting and becomes a vital act..
“If the body trembles, it means the artwork is alive.”
